Essex

Essex is in south east England and is bordered to the east by the North Sea. To the north it is bordered by Suffolk and Cambridgeshire and to the west Hertfordshire. To the south it borders what is now Greater London and across the Thames Estuary is Kent.

It is the home to Tilbury docks and the world’s longest pleasure pier at Southend.

The maternal WOOD family took up brief residence in this county on their return from Lancashire and one child was born here before moving to more central London.
