Welcome to the GILLARD / WOOD Family History Site.
I have been researching my family history for over 20 years, my paternal line GILLARD and my maternal line WOOD. Both families have long deep roots in Southern England, we haven’t travelled far!
Of course individuals have moved across the United Kingdom and travelled the globe to reach the likes of Canada and Australia, but my ancestors were spread the breadth of southern England from Somerset in the West to Kent in the East.
This site will build up a picture of these families and the other families that make up my ancestry such as ANDREWS, BLAKESLEY, CLEMENTS, DOBLE, EDMONDS, EGGLETON, GORMAN, HILL, MALE, READ, RUSSELL, PAYNE, ROPER and SCOTT – my great great grandparents.
Some families I know a lot about, others very little. I hope some of the pages here will help you make some connections. Maybe you can help me fill in some of the gaps, in which case use the contact page to get in touch.
